Master reset done, new software now for the egg timer so I have to see if I am up to the challenge of flashing the chip on a Mac

Pete,,
1--- Be very patient...
It is 10 times easier to do each joint / task meticulously and perfect the first time
then it is to desolder it clean all up and do it again...
2--- Very low wattage iron...
The 15 watt pencil from Radio Shack was great...
You can still get a 15 watt pencil really inexpensively...
3--- Magnification is everything,, strong,, effective,, and comfortable....

Oh so that's the battery/connector Joe? Is that a 2S (7.4v) LiPo pack? If yes, is that the only connector on the battery or does it have another connector too with 3 wires?

I'd expect for a 2S pack for there to be a 3 wire (3 pin) connector that would go into the LiPo charger to do a balance charge of the cells in the pack. If you have that 3 pin connector too then I hope its one which mates with your charger. I suspect you don't have this other 3 wire connector though based on the question and our brief discussion earlier today.

If what you show is the only connector, I'm not sure how you are going to charge it. You can't properly charge the cells in the pack in a balanced way, and it won't be compatible with a typical balanced charger.

If you do have the other 3 wire balance charge connector, then I'd expect to be able to charge through it and we could just hack off the connector you show and put on a JST connector like you saw on my packs. The JST would then would mate up with a similar connector going to whatever you are powering.

Maybe Teddy will chime in since he has far more experience with this stuff than me. :)

yeah, that's the only connector,
I guess I'll have to buy a drone so it can be charged through it, or let Jenna shoot it with a "BB" gun and see the fire works LOL

Well I decided to do some Googling and I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see people asking about charging batteries with no balance connector. It seems it can be done, though it is not ideal. The trick to being able to do it or not depends on the capabilities of the charger. For example, the cheap LiPo charger I have only let's me charge 2s or 3s packs, and only through the balance connector. The charger I have expects to charge each of the cells in the pack individually, so it only outputs enough juice to charge the single cells in the pack. It would not have enough juice to charge the 2s or 3s pack in series, like the connector you have, even if there was a way to plug it in. So though I don't know if you have a fancy charger or not which might also be able to charge through the pack's output connector, I suspect from past discussion and the fact you can't just plug it in means you have a more basic one like I do.
