Charles Kirlew from "CENJARS" club is looking for help at this event on the weekend of February 24-26.
It will be at the Meadowlands Exhibition Center in Secaucus, NJ.
If you want to help, contact him at ckirlew@att.net for times and other info before Tuesday the 14th.
THIS IS THE INFO HE SENT ME;
My name if Jeff Nance. I'm Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy for
the Academy of Model Aeronautics. I writing you to see if your clubs would
be interested running a rocket building make n' take at our upcoming AMA
Expo East, February 24 - 26 at the Meadowlands Exhibition Center in
Secaucus, NJ. The AMA Expo East is new show for AMA members and the public
that participate or have an interest in model aviation and aerospace. We
expect 4,000 attendees during the three days.
We have Expo West in California that has been going on for more than 10
years. The model rocket make n' take is run by the Southern California
Rocket Association. It is always a big hit. http://www.amaexpo.com
<http://www.amaexpo.com>
We would provide the rockets (Estes) and all the materials. We need members
from your club to help the kids build their rockets, talk about model
rocketry and provide a display. We will promote your clubs on our website,
email, social media and Expo East program.
Expo East will have as a guest speaker our AMA Ambassador and five-time
space shuttle pilot/commander Robert "Hoot" Gibson. Hoot will speak all
three days. He loves model flying and rockets and stays on the Expo floor
all day. It's a wonderful opportunity for your club members to meet him. In
addition, if you promote Expo East to your clubs members, we can offer them
admission at the AMA member discount price.
I hope your clubs will be able to run the Expo East rocket make n' take.
Please let me know what questions you might have about it. Here are a couple
of pictures of the set up at Expo West.
Best regards,
Jeff
